Help prevent injuries to horsesLead weights are often ill-fitted under a race saddle that is also weighted to capacity. The lead weights focus the force of the race weight onto the horse's withers and back. Lead weights can restrict shoulder movement, produce a biased "way of going," and cause injury to the muscles in direct contact with the weights. Such problems can cause horses to lose races, become injured, or both. Reduces health hazards to workers: Lead has long been established as a highly toxic substance. Best Pad™ Flex-Weight is a flexible, lead-free, high-density polymer that replaces lead saddle weights. Bar-shaped (as pictured) for pouches, Best Pad™ Flex-Weight provides comfortable handicap weight without lead. They are available in four weight increments: ¼ pound, ½ pound, ¾ pound and 1 pound.
